JOB TITLE:
Business Office SupervisorGENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Business Office Supervisor assists the Facility Director and Clinical Manager in running the Center in an efficient, cost-effective and patient-centered manner.
The BOS must have the ability to lead and motivate the business office staff and is responsible for supervising non-clinical personnel.
The BOS must be able to communicate effectively with upper management, center staff, physicians, and their staffs, patients, their families, marketing, insurance and sales representatives.
Also, have the ability to promote favorable center image with physicians, patients, insurance companies and the general public.
Knowledge of medical terminology:
medical billing and coding; Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
Demonstrated experience using computerized accounting and billing systems.
Minimum 3 years in ASC setting.
High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
Complete oversite and assistance of the revenue cycle including but not limited to scheduling, verification and auths, patient collections, patient registration and check in, coding, billing, payment posting, insurance and patient balance follow up and accounts receivable.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Essential Functions:
1.
Understand the process for completion of case history within required time frame for billing.
2.
Has knowledge of the Chart Composition process and ensure it is completed accuratelyprior to and after the patients visit; according to established guidelines.
3.
Participates with general filing of all medical record documents to foster a teamworkapproach.
4.
Assists with preparing outgoing mail and other clerical duties as requested5.
Review surgery schedule and ensure proper authorization(s) are obtained.
6.
Be able to back up / fill in for all positions within their supervision as necessary.
7.
Coordinate activities between offices to maintain flow and utilize staff efficiently, includingthe surgery scheduling process.
8.
Handle complaints from patients, referring entities, attorney calls, etc.
9.
Maintain positive relationships with referring sources, patients and colleagues.
10.
Special projects as needed.
11.
Understands and can perform all duties within the revenue cycle.
EDUCATION:
o High School Diploma requiredo 3 years minimum supervisor experienceo Minimum 3 years in ASC setting experienceKNOWLEDGE:
1.
Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
2.
Knowledge of computer systems, programs and spreadsheet applications.
3.
Knowledge of medical terminology.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal busy office environment with much telephone work.
Occasional evening or weekend work.
